Programs
and Institutes
- The
National Academies Summer Institute on Education in Biology invites
research university faculty to build their teaching skills during a week-long
intensive training institute. Through workshops, seminars, and practical
experience, participants learn about current research on undergraduate education
and how to apply it to their own courses.
- The
HHMI Teaching Fellows Program: HHMI teaching fellows gain knowledge, skills, and practical experience for teaching and mentoring
in biology. Two
programs are available: classroom teaching and mentoring. <more>
- Undergraduate
Research Scholars: Undergraduates are chosen in a competitive
process in which they are evaluated on grades, letters of recommendation
and essays that describe why they want to do research and how they deal
with adversity. Each undergraduate is paired with a graduate mentor. Together they design and pursue a summer research project. <more>
